Servicing
New car warranty protection for your car
Government legislation passed in 2003 (called block exemption) allows independent garages to service your car without you
losing your manufacturers warranty - it is still protected. The block exemption assumes that your car is serviced to manufacturers
recommendations using original parts or parts to original quality.
Castle Motor Company achieves this quality of service so you do not have to pay main dealer prices. Main dealers often argue
that your car must be serviced by them to maintain the manufacturers warranty - this is not true. We also stamp your service book
to prove that your car has been serviced properly.
The true price of a service
Don’t be fooled, there is no such thing as a free lunch!
“£99 for a service and free MOT”
“MOT for £20”
“Free MOT with every service”
We have all seen these before, headline discounts to lure you in to the garage but at the end of the day your bill is always a
lot more than expected. If nothing else here at Castle Motor Company we are honest and we are in the real world, just look at
menu servicing for example, you will typically see a list of prices offered.

An example: “Cost of service for all vehicles up to 1000cc, from £39.95”
- Cars have different oil types, specified by manufacturers, for different models, some have semi-synthetic, some
synthetic, some “long life” and all have different viscosities and some oils are much more expensive than others - would
you be happy with the wrong oil in your car, you may well get it?
- Cars have different types of spark plugs, for example platinum plugs are much dearer - are they being fitted or
just standard plugs? Some cars of this size have 2, 3 or 4 plugs, or none at all if a diesel.
- Filters vary enormously in price.
- Some cars take longer to service than others.
So how do they do it? Do they assume the dearest price option and charge you that amount?
Here at Castle Motor Company we have all of the car manufacturers service schedules and we service your car to that recommended level.
